Job Description

The Manager, Public Policy Brazil will be responsible for engaging with Brazilian policymakers, regulators, and government bodies on regulatory and advocacy issues. This role will share Netflix representation activities with the Public Policy Director, lead strategic projects, and advise on recurring tasks. Responsibilities include monitoring legislative initiatives, building relationships with government stakeholders, collaborating with internal teams, providing regulatory analysis, handling complex business problems, representing Netflix in coalitions, and managing external consultants. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of public policy and advocacy experience and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The Brazil Public Policy team needs a person to engage with policymakers, regulators, and government bodies on regulatory and advocacy issues, splitting Netflix representation activities with the Public Policy Director. The new role would also lead some of the strategic projects and advise or lead on recurring tasks. 

In addition, the role would also:
Monitor and advance legislative and regulatory initiatives;
Build and develop efficient, positive, and long-term relationships with government stakeholders and other external partners;
Deep collaboration with internal x-functional teams to understand aspects of Netflix’s business and its needs and secure alignment, provide regulatory analysis and advice on  the impact of public policy developments on the business;
Handle or execute solutions to complex business problems, by providing  input to tactical plans and developing or executing operational plans to achieve tactical objectives;
Represent the company in coalitions and trade associations;
manage external consultants.

The position requires the following competencies:
At least 8 years of public policy, and advocacy experience;
excellent communication and negotiation skills;
project management, with a certain level of oversight from the Public Policy Director;
Experience working in government, the private sector, a trade association, or a policy organization;
Previous experience with the entertainment industry and cultural regulations is a plus.

Fluent English Skills. Spanish is a plus.
