About the Role

Sago Mini is looking for a Marketing Creative Team Lead to champion the vision for our brand, and how we reach our audiences across our key marketing touchpoints. The Marketing Creative Team Lead will be responsible for ideation and creative direction, and overseeing a team of internal and external talent. The primary goal of the team lead is to deliver exceptional creative that will make audiences fall in love with Sago Mini & Piknik

This is a hybrid remote and will require the successful candidate to work at least one day a week from our downtown, Toronto office.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and maintain a clear vision of the Sago Mini & Piknik identity for our customer facing channels (including app store, social media, YouTube, paid advertising, CRM)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help craft advertising brand guidelines and vision across Sago Mini and Piknik
  • Manage freelance and agency talent, and lead process to hire new designers, reviewing portfolios, art tests and interviewing candidates when necessary
  • Manage creative resources, including photographers, designers, animators and freelancers, to review all visual assets and provide feedback across all products
  • Provide creative direction to internal design and copywriting talent; responsible for overarching marketing creative output, including reviews, project feedback, and meeting the requirements of each brief
  • Working closely with marketing project manager to ensure that we deliver projects on time, and on budget; key stakeholder in developing project timelines and defining project scope
  • Refine briefing process for core stakeholders across internal and external teams, lead brainstorms and cross-functional collaboration where required
  • Bring a sense of joy and levity to our audience, injecting our identity into our marketing creative
  • Advocate for the role of marketing creative, demonstrating an expertise in category trends, platform best practices, and creative innovation
  • Act as the marketing creative liaison with any external partners (within Spin Master and externally)
  • Provide exploratory concepts and storyboards for product asset production, and occasionally for other Spin Master Digital partners as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of production experience advertising/production with a strong emphasis on video. You’ve led teams to develop high quality creative for digital campaigns that has included content, interactive, rich media, and animation
  • You have a keen understanding of what is needed to make digital projects come about and possess the sufficient technical knowledge to foresee and address production issues.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets and project managing teams (in house or freelance)
  • Eagerness to learn from a wide array of creative team members across multiple disciplines, and to educate creative team on advertising best practices
  • Knowledge of standard project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to balance the needs of the marketing and product teams to meet company goals
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects effectively
