Job Description

Tesla's Athens, Greece office seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) of complex mechanical systems for Tesla motor technology. Responsibilities include 3D modeling, applying analytical methods (calculations and simulations) for design optimization, collaborating with engineers, conducting experimental tests and simulations for validation, performing tolerance analysis, managing suppliers, developing test rigs, and conducting FEA modeling for fluid, thermal, and structural problems, including rotor dynamics modeling. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, GD&T expertise, experience in computational methods for fluid and thermal systems, proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, CATIA), and FEA simulation expertise. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

What to Expect

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer who will be working on design and DFM of complex mechanical systems. This engineer will be working as part of the Tesla motor technology team located in Athens, Greece.

What You’ll Do

Design and 3D modeling of mechanical components and assemblies.
Apply analytical methods including calculations and simulations for the design and optimization of structures and mechanical components.
Collaborate with other design engineers to gain an in-depth understanding of the design intend and independently work towards the most effective solution.
Perform experimental tests and simulations to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
Perform tolerance analysis to determine system impacts of assembly fits.
Manage suppliers to execute projects according to the design specifications and timeline commitments.
Development of test rigs for measurements of complex mechanical systems.
FEA modelling for fluid, thermal and structural problems.
Rotor dynamics modeling.

Σχεδιασμός και τρισδιάστατη μοντελοποίηση μηχανικών εξαρτημάτων και συναρμολογήσεων.
Εφαρμογή αναλυτικών μεθόδων, όπως υπολογισμοί και προσομοιώσεις, για τον σχεδιασμό και τη βελτιστοποίηση δομών και μηχανικών εξαρτημάτων.
Συνεργασία με τους άλλους μηχανικούς σχεδιασμού για βαθιά κατανόηση της πρόθεσης σχεδιασμού και ανεξάρτητη εργασία για την πιο αποτελεσματική λύση.
Εκτέλεση πειραματικών δοκιμών και προσομοιώσεων για την επικύρωση των σχεδίων και τη διασφάλιση της τήρησης των προτύπων απόδοσης και ασφάλειας.
Εκτέλεση ανάλυσης αντοχής για τον προσδιορισμό των επιπτώσεων των συναρμολογήσεων στο σύστημα.
Διαχείριση των προμηθευτών για την εκτέλεση των έργων σύμφωνα με τις προδιαγραφές σχεδιασμού και τις δεσμεύσεις χρονοδιαγράμματος.
Ανάπτυξη δοκιμαστικών διατάξεων για μετρήσεις πολύπλοκων μηχανικών συστημάτων.
Μοντελοποίηση FEA για ρευστά, θερμικά και δομικά προβλήματα.
Μοντελοποίηση δυναμικής ρότορα.

What You’ll Bring

Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering.
Excellent knowledge of GD&T.
Demonstrated experience in computational methods for fluid and thermal systems.
Strong skills in calculation of components / component optimization using FEA.
Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software.
Expertise in SolidWorks, CATIA, FEA simulation.
