The Media Manager manages and oversees the lifecycle of media content, with a focus on advertising and commercial content. This role ensures that all ads and commercials are processed, scheduled, and transmitted accurately and efficiently. This includes overseeing the ingestion, scheduling, and playout of advertisements and commercial content, managing ad traffic, performing quality checks, and monitoring ad performance. The position is part of the Flex Workforce and requires the ability to work 40+ hours weekly from May through July, with potential for additional hours. The job involves coordinating the placement of ads within programming, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, and creating guidelines for metadata ingestion including licensing and usage rights. The role also involves monitoring and auditing assets to adhere to established governance standards.
Must have:
  • Experience with file management of Isilon storage systems
  • EVS IPD and XTaccess knowledge
  • Experience with Grass Valley AMPP Asset Management
  • Knowledge of Signiant Media Shuttle
  • Experience with a Traffic department for Ad file management
  • Experience with maintaining detailed spreadsheets and asset management systems
  • Strong ability to catalog and manage media assets
  • Familiarity with ingesting footage and media asset management software
  • Attention to detail for asset labeling, archiving, and technical compliance

Job Summary 

The Media Manager manages and oversees the lifecycle of media content, with a focus on advertising and commercial content. This role ensures that all ads and commercials are processed, scheduled, and transmitted accurately and efficiently, working closely with other staff to maintain high standards of broadcast quality and compliance.  
 
This position is part of our Flex Workforce and hours can vary widely depending on the specific project. Technicians will be booked for specific hours and days with as much advance notice as possible, and all times will be agreed upon by both ASG and the Technician.
This role is expected to work 40+ hours weekly from May through July. Additional hours may be available after July depending on project availability.

Essential Functions:  

  • Oversee the ingestion, scheduling, and playout of advertisements and commercial content within the MCR environment. 
  • Ensure all ads and commercials are properly formatted, tagged, and prepared for broadcast according to industry standards and client requirements. 
  • Manage ad traffic, including coordinating the placement of ads within programming and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations. 
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate changes, special events, and last-minute ad requests. 
  • Ensure timely delivery and accurate execution of ad content, including any necessary adjustments or substitutions. 
  • Perform quality checks on ads and commercials to ensure they meet broadcast standards and technical specifications. 
  • Monitor ad performance and resolve any issues related to the playback or display of commercial content. 
  • Create and improve guidelines for metadata ingestion including licensing and usage rights. 
  • Monitor and audit assets to adhere to established governance standards, ensure process standards are being followed for managing assets. 
  • Other duties may be assigned
 

Requirements:

  • Experience with file management of Isilon storage systems

  • Strong ability to catalog and manage media assets, ensuring that all materials are accessible for teams. 
  • Familiarity with ingesting footage, managing file formats, and using media asset management software.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all media assets are properly labeled, archived, and in compliance with technical requirements. 

Compensation: 

This role is paid an hourly rate of $40-55/hour depending on experience.
