As an OpsTech Backend Engineer at Sporty, you'll work on internal products supporting millions of users globally. You'll develop innovative solutions using technologies like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, MySQL, MongoDB, and more within a microservices architecture. Responsibilities include creating automation tools, optimizing workflows (payments, fraud, customer service), collaborating with cross-functional teams, responding to support calls, and mentoring junior team members. You'll participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to a high-performing team. The role requires advanced proficiency in OOD, testing, and microservices, alongside expertise in database technologies and cloud solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
Must have:
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Spring Boot, Spring Cloud expertise
  • Advanced OOD & analysis skills
  • Microservices architecture knowledge
  • SQL proficiency
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, MySQL, Redis
Good to have:

In this role, you will work on the internal products that allow Sporty to support millions of users in many countries. You will get to work on innovative solutions to unique problems, developing solutions using the latest technology.
This is a pivotal role in the company with ample opportunities to have a major impact, as well as to learn and grow

Backend Application Framework: Spring Boot (Java Config + Embedded Tomcat)
Micro Service Framework: Spring Cloud Dalston (Netflix Eureka + Netflix Zuul + Netflix Ribbon + Feign)
Database: MySQL and MongoDB,Mybatis, Druid
Public Cache: AWS ElastiCache + Redis
Message Queue: Apache RocketMQ
Distributed Scheduling: Dangdang Elastic JobData
Index and Search: ElasticSearch
LogReal-time Visualization: ElasticSearch + Logstash + Kibana
Business Monitoring: Graphite + GrafanaCluster
Monitoring: AWS CloudwatchTasking: Elastic
JobServer: Netty 

Responsibilities
Create automation tools and technologies to enhance overall productivity
Design, develop, and implement solutions to optimize workflows across areas like payments, fraud, customer service
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Respond to support calls to keep things running smoothly for users
Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, demonstration and team retrospectives
Mentoring less experienced team members 

Requirements
Minimum of 3+ Years within a relevant role
Preferred experience in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data
Advanced proficiency in Object Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis
Advanced proficiency in application of analysis / design engineering functions
Advanced proficiency in application of non-functional software qualities such as resiliency and maintainability
Advanced proficiency in modern behavior-driven testing techniques
Deep understanding of Microservices
Proficient in SQL
Expert knowledge of application development with technologies like RabbitMQ, MySQL, Redis etc
Strong experience with container and cloud solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes and AWS Cloud
An ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills in English
