Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.
Strategic Accounts team within Azure Data works with strategic customers and ISVs across the world to help them leverage azure data services in most effective and mutually profitable ways. We're hiring a data science PM as a part of this group to work with customers building next-gen bioinformatics application on Fabric. You should possess deep solutions architecture and technical expertise, business acumen, and have the ability to clearly communicate at all levels with the customer. You will be an SME on Data Engineering with extensive experience in Bioinformatics domain. You will work with customers and partners to co-own the Bioinformatics roadmap for Fabric and associated Azure data services. Through close engagements with strategic customers, you will represent the voice of the customer distilling new requirements and issues into improvements for engineering teams. You will also collect patterns and lessons learned from your engagements and turn them into reference architectures, best practices and training for engineering teams and the global Azure Data Services community.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR
Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR
equivalent experience

Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Experience with single-cell RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, or ATAC-seq data analysis.
- Familiarity with advanced bioinformatics topics such as genetic variant analysis, epigenomics, or systems biology.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices, including interactive data visualization tools such as Dash or Shiny.
- Familiarity with biostatistical models and Bayesian statistics applied to bioinformatics.

- Develop and implement bioinformatics algorithms, tools, and pipelines for high-throughput data analysis, including data preprocessing, statistical analysis, and visualization.
- Perform analyses using tools like BLAST, Bowtie, BWA, GATK, VCFtools, and others for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including DNA-seq, RNA-seq, and variant calling.
- Conduct RNA-Seq analysis and differential gene expression analysis using packages such as DESeq2, EdgeR, and limma.
- Work closely with biologists, geneticists, and other domain experts to design experiments, interpret results, and communicate findings effectively.
- Document all code, analyses, and methodologies for reproducibility and transparency. Prepare reports, presentations, and publications based on results.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and computational biology, incorporating new technologies and methodologies into research workflows as appropriate.
- Own bioinformatics analytics roadmap on Fabric in collaboration with strategic customers working in the area and engineering teams owning specific services in Fabric.
