Job Description

As a Project Engineer Process Technology, you will be responsible for planning and implementing projects in the pharmaceutical industry. Your tasks include defining project scope for specific areas or equipment, ensuring client requirements are met, and adhering to budget and timelines through regular communication. You will manage small to medium-sized process units and systems with varying complexity, coordinating with internal and external engineers, clients, and suppliers to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
Must have:
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineers, clients, construction managers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Structure, prioritize, and delegate complex tasks independently within the team.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with clients or suppliers.
  • Create, document, and evaluate mass and energy balances.
  • Identify deviations from agreed project scope and design changes, escalating to the discipline or project manager as needed.
  • Possess sound experience in creating common project documentation and support colleagues.
  • Create Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Create technical documentation and functional specifications for process equipment and qualification requirements.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations.
  • Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests).
  • Conduct risk analyses.
  • Perform HAZOP/HCCP or similar safety analyses.
  • Manage supplier packages.
  • Review 3D models and coordinate.
  • Resolve 3D model collisions.
  • Act as a mentor for junior team members.
  • University degree in Chemical, Biotechnology, or Process Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of project experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a process engineer and/or project manager.
  • Excellent technical understanding.
  • Social competence, leadership talent, and teamwork ability.
  • Sound knowledge of FDA / EMA standards and cGMP and their interpretation in projects.
  • Willingness to travel to project locations in the DACH region.
  • Very good language skills in German (B2, including technical and industry-specific vocabulary) and in English (C1).

Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of exciting projects in the pharmaceutical industry. Your area of responsibility includes planning a defined project scope, for example, for a specific area or a series of equipment and systems. Through regular exchange with our clients, you ensure that all requirements are met and that budget and schedule are adhered to. The process units, areas, and systems to be managed range from small to medium-sized projects with corresponding complexity.

What to expect:

  • You coordinate collaboration with internal and external engineers, clients, construction managers, partners, and suppliers.
  • You independently structure, prioritize, and delegate complex tasks within the team.
  • You communicate effectively and regularly with clients or suppliers.
  • You are responsible for the creation, documentation, and evaluation of mass and energy balances.
  • You identify deviations from the agreed project scope as well as changes in design direction and forward them to the discipline or project manager if necessary.
  • You have sound experience in creating common project documentation and can support other colleagues in this.
  • You create Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • You create technical documentation and functional specifications for process equipment and qualification requirements.

  • Based on your experience and technical skills, you will also take on other tasks such as:
