Job Description

The Project Manager will lead the design and manufacturing teams through the Aptiv development process. They will oversee initial plans, set milestones, track project activities, and communicate project progress to stakeholders. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, establishing relationships within the company, and acting as the main contact with customers. The Project Manager will be responsible for achieving flawless launches, driving appropriate reviews and escalations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves understanding customer requirements and building relationships, supporting new business development, and securing necessary approvals for project execution. They must comply with PDP requirements and maintain required documentation and reporting. This role requires a holistic approach and strategic thinking.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced English (writing, reading, speaking).
  • 3+ years of project/program management experience in automotive industry.
  • Experience with product life cycle and risk management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and cross-functional team skills.
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.
  • Resourcefully innovative and adapts to a changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of OEM processes and development cycles.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead, coach, and mentor.
  • Proficient ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Proven conflict management skills.
  • Track record of completing projects on time within specifications.
  • Problem-solving skills to drive corrective actions.
  • Proficient in MS-Office and MS-Project.

Job Details

Summary

Lead the design and manufacturing  teams through the Aptiv development process. The Project Manager will oversee initial plans, set milestones, track project activities and communicate project progress to stakeholders.  Work cross-functionally to establish working relationships within the company and act as the main contact with customers.   

Key job responsibilities:

  • Responsible to achieve flawless launches (i.e. full ownership to deliver programs on-time, with quality and in-charge of profitability)
  • Acts as the program life cycle owner; brings strategy and holistic approach
  • Drives appropriate reviews/escalations, risk identification and mitigation, removes roadblocks
  • Act as customer contact for regular management communication and escalation
  • Background working with multiple projects and customers, internal and external
  • Responsible to support achievement of profitability for their assigned business which includes working closely with Directors, Account Managers, profit management.
  • Support continuous improvement by using Lean/I&CIM techniques
  • Responsible for understanding customer requirements and building relationships with key customers
  • Support in customer management (especially in critical situations)
  • Supports new business development activities
  • Secures appropriation requests’ approvals on time for project execution
  • Responsible for complying to PDP requirements, maintain required documentation and reporting

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent technical field.
  • English advanced (writing, reading, speaking)
  • 3+ years’ experience in project/program management or equivalent field in the automotive industry
  • 3+ years of experience in the use of product life cycle and risk management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills with strong ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
  • Knowledge of OEM processes and development cycles
  • Strong and demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead, coach and mentor team members    
  • Proficient ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Proven conflict management skills
  • Track record of successfully completing projects on time within specifications despite obstacles which arise during such new programs         
  • Versed in problem-solving skills; ability to drive corrective actions with minimal direction
  • Proficient in MS-Office and MS- Project
  • Financial knowledge/business acumen
  • Negotiation skills
