What does a Proofreader do at Hogarth?

The Proofreader ensures all print materials are delivered correctly, to the highest quality, and according to brand specifications.

Duties:

• Assists with developing and communicating brand, agency, and client quality control guidelines
• Reviews all print production materials to ensure accuracy
• Returns proof to Artworker for revisions after marking up changes
• Reviews for conformance with standard proofreading and brand guidelines, spelling and grammatical errors, punctuation, spacing, positioning of page elements, copy errors, and general quality controls
• Assists in developing QC/proofreading processes and documentation including checklists and workflow documents
• Reviews processes for ongoing enhancements and improvements

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in a studio/QC setting
• Sound working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
• Basic knowledge of Creative Suite programs
• Strong working knowledge of AP style guide
• Outstanding mastery of the English language including grammar, punctuation and spelling
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
