The Team

The Nasdaq Investigations and Enforcement Team’s mission is to protect investors and market integrity by investigating possible misconduct and enforcing Nasdaq’s market and listings rules and the federal securities laws. We’re looking for an exceptional investigator to join our growing team and help us build a robust and impactful enforcement program!

Your role and responsibilities

As a Quantitative Researcher, you will have a diverse and dynamic role. You will analyze potential market manipulation schemes, work with the team’s attorneys on cases, and help colleagues with complex data issues. You will also collaborate with surveillance analysts on referrals of trading activity that may signal misconduct, and work with other regulators, such as exchanges, FINRA, and the SEC. Your skills and judgment will be important in making fair and meaningful decisions that affect our markets, member firms, and investors at large.

You will need the following skills and experience

  • A completed degree in STEM (or related field). PhD a plus.
  • Three or more years of professional data science experience (statistical modeling, data mining, machine learning, etc.)
  • Experience or demonstrable interest in equities or options trading.
  • Knowledge of market structure and securities industry rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Expertise in Python. Knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, and AWS a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply analytics and data visualizations to solve complex problems.
  • Must be organized and able to manage multiple matters at once, compiling and managing data from numerous sources in support of ongoing investigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; particularly the ability to present investigative findings and conclusions clearly and concisely.
  • Must be comfortable working independently or collaboratively, as required.

The base pay range for this role is $85,000 - $141,600. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
