Job Description

Soap Central, part of Absolute Sports, seeks a Reality TV Writer to create 4-5 daily articles. Responsibilities include reviewing reality TV shows, monitoring controversies and social media trends, pitching story ideas, and meeting deadlines for real-time coverage. The ideal candidate possesses 2+ years of entertainment reporting experience, strong research skills, and excellent time management. The role requires working the night shift (7 PM to 3 AM IST).

Must have:

The Opportunity

Experience: 1-2 years

Role: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Write 4-5 articles a day.
Review reality TV shows (thorough research skills mandatory).
Monitor day-to-day controversies and news centering on the shows, keep tabs on social media trends, and become familiar with Google Trends.
Pitch interesting story ideas.
Open to feedback from the editorial team.
Able to meet deadlines, available for real-time coverage of off-field angles when they’re pushed out.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in English/ Journalism/ Mass communication is preferred.
Has at least 2 years of experience in entertainment reporting.
Understands industry terms and has previous success in breaking entertainment reporting.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
Willing to work in the night shift (7PM to 3AM IST).
