What You'll Do

The Release and Patch Manager in our global Release Management team will be responsible for the release and patch process across the entire set of our large-scale SaaS solutions. The candidate must have a strong background in delivering features and bug fixes to customers and should also come with technical expertise around CI/CD as well as microservices.

What You Bring

  • Continuously improve the SuccessFactors PDLC on our exciting journey from a 6-month release cadence to continuous deployment.
  • Own and govern the PDLC phases across all releases for our monolith and microservices alike.
  • Be responsible for patches:
    • Own and drive the bug fix process while harmonizing timelines across the various deployments – automate the approach by leveraging the latest pipeline and tool capabilities
    • Provide guidance and serve as trusted advisor
    • Ensure all corrections are deployed as per the SLAs and with excellent quality
    • Define and continuously improve the patch process for microservices
  • Ensure microservice deliveries are fully automated:
    • Refine the existing release-train process
    • Govern the microservice releases and provide clear guidance to Scrum Teams
    • Foster the adoption of the current release-train concept for microservices
    • Automate delivery steps and integrate all remaining manual ones into the pipeline
    • Aim at anytime-deployment to the Production environment with limited/no manual intervention
  • Serve as Release Manager:
    • Ensure all SuccessFactors’ products meet corporate requirements and product standards like Security, Performance, Accessibility etc.
    • Drive the harmonization of quality criteria across all SuccessFactors applications – monolith and microservices, for the releases as well as patches
    • Support product portfolio planning using OKRs and Agile best practices
  • Develop common strategies and measurements for release governance across multiple departments
  • Knowledge of JIRA, capable of creating executive reports and dashboards, and proficient in JIRA queries.
  • Actively contribute to successful release decisions and the deployment of all new releases to our significant customer base
  • Interface with various senior stakeholders in Operations, Engineering and Product Management to support a continuous delivery and feature rollout
