As part of our Data Enablement group, our Telemetry and Streaming teams develop and maintain essential data products and services that are used by teams across King to monitor our game, marketing and advertising platforms, ensuring that we deliver fun and personalised experiences for all our players. Your role within our Kingdom

We are seeking a talented individual with a degree in Computer Science (or a related field) to join our team as a Senior Java Developer (Telemetry and Streaming). You’ll be part of a group that speaks your language, tackling complex challenges with cutting-edge technology. Our games are loved by hundreds of millions worldwide, and you’ll be instrumental in building them—along with the engines and support systems that ensure they run seamlessly on any platform.

In Shared Tech, we operate as a B2B organization, delivering a platform that seamlessly integrates with all the games developed at King.

Tasks within the team vary greatly but include:

• Develop, maintain, and operate our large-scale real-time stream processing platform built with Apache Flink, enabling users to build, test, and deploy business logic with minimal technical expertise and operational overhead.

• Oversee the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of Kafka clusters to ensure reliable and efficient data streaming.

• Enhance and automate monitoring and operational processes across our systems.

• Research and prototype innovative backend solutions for data processing, analytics, and storage.

• Collaborate with engineers from various teams within King’s analytics space.

• Promote the team’s products to a broad audience, catering to both technical and non-technical users, and provide support and education as needed.

• Contribute within an agile environment where your input and ideas are valued.

Skills to create thrills

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• High level knowledge in stream processing technologies such as Apache Flink (preferred), Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams to build stateless/stateful stream processing and near real-time systems.

• You are a curious individual who thrives on problem-solving and has a passion for “great engineering.” You are eager to learn and experiment with new technologies—traits that truly define you. 

• You bring a deep understanding of Java and object-oriented design patterns, consistently writing high-quality, maintainable code and continuously seeking to improve your practices. 

• Experience working with major public cloud providers, particularly Google Cloud products (Dataproc, GKE, BigQuery, Dataflow, GCS).

Bonus points

• Skilled in developing applications running in Hadoop clusters.

• Experienced in building CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GCP Cloud Build, and ArgoCD.

• Knowledgeable in observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.

• Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, particularly Terraform.

• Experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases.
