Senior Cloud Operations Engineer

This role is a blend of technical hands on work as well as leadership and mentorship You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing managed Cloud Architecture, guiding a team of engineers and engaging directly with clients to translate technical solutions into business value.

Location: Remote position open to candidates in Europe.

What Will You Do? 🔧

• Engage with existing and new clients, leading both technical and business discussions.
• Gather requirements, analyze client needs and develop tailored cloud solutions.
• Assist in developing value propositions for AWS services and ensure service offerings remain competitive.
• Design, implement and manage AWS-based cloud architectures aligned with company strategy and client needs.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, CodePipeline) ensuring efficient deployment processes.
• Oversee monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, CloudWatch) to optimize system performance.
• Work with containers (Kubernetes, Docker),
• Work with databases (MySQL/Postgres + Redis cache)
• Work with serverless technologies (Python/JS) and cloud networking resources.
• Create automation tools and dashboards (Bash) to enhance service delivery.
• Lead and mentor a team of junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing.
• Encourage best practices, governance and security standards within the team and across projects.

What You Bring 🎯

• Strong proficiency in AWS (working knowledge of GCP is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation),
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, CodePipeline)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with serverless architectures.
• Hands-on experience with databases (MySQL/Postgres + Redis cache).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, CloudWatch).
• Deep understanding of cloud networking and and Linux administration.
• Strong programming/scripting skills (JavaScript, Go, Python, Bash).
• Ability to create cloud solutions based on abstract requirements.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading technical and business discussions.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Ability to align technical solutions with business goals and articulate their value to clients.
