Senior Commercial Sponsorship Manager

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Commercial Sponsorship Manager be to be accountable for the sponsorship portfolio, encompassing prominent properties such as Leafs, Raptors, NBA, NHL, NFL, and the Olympics. They are responsible for implementing data-driven strategies tailored to meet the specific needs of each product team. This entails leading planning, activation, and measurement efforts, collaborating closely with product teams and internal marketing departments. Through leveraging partnerships and utilizing insightful data, this position plays a pivotal role in advancing OLG's business objectives and promoting sustained growth.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Director Commercial Sponsorship, you will be empowered to:
Support the day-to-day strategic direction of all aspects of commercial sponsorship business/initiatives on behalf of the organization.
In collaboration with the Director, Lines of Business leaders and other internal stakeholders, develop sponsorship strategies to execution-ready status, including maximizing full sponsorship rights, budget management and related media support.
Manage complex multi-year program strategic assessment including in-year opportunity evaluation and measurement requirements across the commercial sponsorship’s portfolio.
Under the guidance of the Director, manage sponsorship contractual agreements (terms and benchmarks), negotiations and partnership relationships across the commercial sponsorship’s portfolio.
In partnership with the Director, develop detailed strategic and tactical roadmaps that align the day-to-day focus to the strategy.
Collaborate with agency partners to analyze ongoing sponsorship and market trends within sports, arts, entertainment and lifestyle and translate key insights and learnings into strategic and tailored business recommendations.
Build and manage long-term partnerships with OLG’s commercial sponsorship partners in order to optimize the value of OLG’s contracts and advance OLG’s brand equity.
Oversee sponsorship program budget including forecasting and monitoring of complex partnership agreements and communicate to the Director and divisional leadership as appropriate.
In collaboration with the Director, oversee and direct agency(s) in areas such as search, valuation, business and activation strategies and return on sponsorship investment with input from Enterprise Analytics when applicable.
Negotiate the terms and parameters of in-market activation programs, delivered through third-party, or in-house, ensuring their successful delivery and return on investment.
With guidance from the Director, develop innovative business cases, presentations, opportunity papers and point of view proposals on new sponsorships/partnership opportunities or improvements to current programs, policies or processes to drive continuous improvement; support the Director in the presentation of commercial sponsorship opportunities grounded in strong return on investment analysis.
Oversee consultative input and align with OLG Product and Brand Management groups in support of the annual plan which will ladder up to the OLG Marketing Plans.
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in sponsorship consumer marketing and event activation; 3+ years of experience in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation
Education: university degree in marketing/business management; knowledge of the sponsorship industry
Critical Skills: strategic, creative and innovative thinker; experienced negotiator with an ability to work within a complex deal framework; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigour applied to a wide variety of marketing problems; good balance of creative and innovative instincts with business acumen and strategic capabilities; interpersonal skills; relationship management skills; project and program management skills
