Job Description

Endava is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to advance its data engineering capabilities. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines for ingestion and processing, collaborating with BI and Data analysts. The engineer will contribute to the data platform, create new pipelines ensuring data quality, and work on extraction architectures. Responsibilities include merging data, automating processes, assembling complex datasets, assisting cross-functional teams, and ensuring data integrity. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in data engineering and strong communication skills.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines.
  • Ingest and process data, working with BI and Data analysts.
  • Participate in data platform development.
  • Create new data pipelines, ensuring data quality.
  • Work on data extraction architectures and infrastructure.
  • Merge newly discovered data with existing data.
  • Automate processes where possible.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures.
  • Assemble complex data sets meeting functional requirements.
  • Assist cross-functional teams with technical issues.
  • Ensure data safety and integrity across geographic boundaries.
  • Actively participate in planning, stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Full-time employment contract (UoP) required.
  • Willingness to work in office (Kraków, Warszawa, Gdańsk) twice a week.

  • Experience building with Docker and orchestrating with Kubernetes
  • Experience working with SSAS and SSIS with SQL Server

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team and work on taking our data engineering to the next level.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our pipelines to ingest and process data; working alongside BI and Data analysts. You will actively participate in the development of our data platform and assist the team in creating new data pipelines, ensuring the highest quality of data delivered.

  • Work on data extraction architectures and infrastructure for data sourcing
  • Find ways to merge newly discovered data with existing data
  • Identify possibilities to automate the processes where possible
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures
  • Assemble complex data sets that meet the functional requirements
  • Work with cross-functional teams to assist with related technical issues
  • Ensure the safety and integrity of our data across geographic boundaries
  • Actively participate in planning, stand-ups, and retrospective meetings

Qualifications

What we look for

  • At least 5 years of experience working in data engineering domain
  • Good knowledge of data ETL and processing techniques
  • Proficient in working with relational databases (such as PostgreSQL, MySQL etc) and understanding of relational storage concepts, with the ability to write and optimize SQL queries.
  • Experience with Python and Apache Airflow
  • Experience working with some services in data ecosystem of Amazon Web Service
  • Organised and structured working process
  • Able to agree to and deliver to realistic deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills
  • Strong agile mindset, able to iterate fast and give early feedback
  • Desire and eagerness to contribute to the success of the company and grow along with it
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
  • Willingness to work based on a full-time employment contract (UoP) only
  • Willingness to come to one of our offices in Kraków, Warszawa or Gdańsk twice a week
