We are looking for a senior director to head our Mechanical Engineering organization and play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of NVIDIA’s high-performance networking hardware. This critical position is responsible for owning and driving end-to-end execution, setting strategic direction, and leading a team in designing and delivering optimized mechanical solutions for high-end Network System. The role involves full accountability for all aspects of mechanical design, from architecture and thermal management to manufacturability and reliability at scale.
The Mechanical Engineering organization operates at the intersection of hardware development, product management, and large-scale manufacturing. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Hardware, Product Management & Configuration (PMC), NPI, Thermal, Layout, Quality, Operations, Product Engineering and Supply Chain. As a key execution leader, this individual will ensure NVIDIA maintains its position as the industry leader in networking solutions while continuously enhancing product quality, performance, and scalability.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of mechanical engineers, including managers and directors, to foster a culture of excellence.
Applying deep professional and engineering expertise while providing hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Owning and driving the mechanical engineering execution plan, ensuring alignment with NVIDIA’s business and technology goals and delivering results.
Overseeing all aspects of mechanical design, including system enclosures, thermal solutions, and manufacturability, with a focus on execution for high-volume production.
Managing the development and delivery of custom mechanical components such as chassis, heatsinks, enclosures, and test fixtures, ensuring performance, reliability, and on-time execution.
Collaborating with Hardware, Thermal, Product Management, NPI, Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of high-quality products.
Driving risk assessments and mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle to enhance reliability and robustness.
Supporting production, failure analysis, and reliability investigations, while working closely with manufacturing partners and contract manufacturers to ensure continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
What We Need to See:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
18+ years of experience in electro-mechanical product design, including PCB/PCBA mechanical integration.
8+ years of experience in senior leadership roles managing large engineering teams (50+ employees), including managers and directors.
Expertise in mechanical design for high-volume manufacturing, including sheet metal, die-casting, stamping, and injection molding.
Proven track record of leading complex mechanical engineering projects with end-to-end ownership from concept to mass production.
Deep understanding of thermal management, cooling solutions, and environmental considerations in hardware products.
Strong business acumen, balancing technical excellence with commercial execution.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Fluent in English.

Background in developing and implementing advanced mechanical design methodologies and best practices.
Knowledge of liquid cooling systems design, testing, and manufacturing.
