Job Description
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of DevOps Engineers who are responsible for the deployment, automation, and management of software applications and infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the team's goals and objectives are aligned with the company's strategic objectives and ensure that the team's work meets high-quality standards.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers through mentoring, coaching, and management support. Provide your team with context and continuous feedback.
- Manage and maintain a large QA/UAT testing environment, supporting multiple products and product teams.
- Participate in, or lead, key activities that promote a healthy engineering culture: code reviews, incident reviews, team retrospectives, etc.
- Understand customers’ pain points and how the roadmap will solve them and have a strong sense of urgency to deliver.
- Promote behaviours that foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Be an example of such behaviours.
- Communicate your decisions frequently and clearly in all directions: your team, stakeholders, peers, etc.
- Be curious and detail oriented. Understand the limitations of your products, have a point of view, and own the forward-looking technical strategy.
- Finally, be kind, humble, empathetic, and a good human being – we love working as a team.
- You are a seasoned technologist, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- You have 8+ years as an individual contributor, creating automation and delivery solutions for software systems.
- You have 4+ years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineering teams.
- You have 2+ years of experience building cloud-native applications in any primary public cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GPC.
- You have experience with network administration, CIS standards, and fleet management.
- You have experience in application development, provisioning infrastructure as code, and have knowledge of computer networking.
- You have experience setting up and running a variety of CI/CD pipelines in a continuous delivery environment and are familiar with different deployment strategies.
- You have a knack for eliminating repetitive or tactical activities that have limited enduring value. You hate toil and embrace automation.
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in Azure / AWS and its services is preferred but not required.
- Experience in either IT, operations, or help desk management.
