What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Senior iOS Anti-Cheat Programmer to join the efforts of protecting our games against cheaters and other bad actors. Your efforts will be critical to the success of game projects such as Fortnite. You will be the main responsible individual for the excellence of our anti-cheat efforts in iOS with possibilities to contribute across the board on anti-cheat work. The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing low-level software for iOS and a security background. This is an incredible opportunity to create a fun and safe environment for millions of players and make a positive impact on the entire Epic ecosystem.

In this role, you will

  • Develop new technologies that identify untrustworthy mobile devices in our games
  • Collaborate with engineers, data analysts, and other developers to improve existing safety and security processes
  • Monitor and reverse programmer emerging threats to implement appropriate remediations
  • Design and implement strategies and tactics to make it harder for attackers to analyze and circumvent our security checks on iOS and beyond

What we're looking for

  • Expert knowledge of iOS internals and security stack, from boot to the app sandbox
  • Expert knowledge of C++ in a game security environment
  • Expert knowledge of ARM64 ISA
  • Ability to reverse-programmer IPA files
  • Knowledge of software obfuscation techniques
  • Experience working with large codebases and independently writing robust code that will ship across millions of devices
  • Good knowledge of Objective-C
  • Technical understanding of mobile device exploitation, security, or root/jailbreak procedures
  • You’re user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do

This role is open to multiple locations across North America & Europe (including CA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
