The Job

The Franchise Planning Team is a new and growing team at Warner Bros. Games. The team is responsible for developing the long-term strategy for franchises across Warner Bros. Games, including Harry Potter, DC, LEGO, Mortal Kombat, and Game of Thrones across PC, Console, and Mobile platforms. The team’s primary goal is to ensure collaboration and deconfliction across existing projects, identify new opportunities to explore, and align the organization around the long-term slate plan for each franchise. The team works closely with teams across Warner Bros. Games, such as Brand, Product Development, and Sales teams, as well as TV and Film franchise teams across the Warner Bros. Discovery ecosystem. The Franchise Planning Manager role will report to the Director, Franchise Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes programs and tools to track, manage, and report on franchise slate. Ensures collaboration and deconfliction across all products (Mobile and PC/Console, self-published and licensed titles).

  • Identifies gaps and market opportunities for internally published and licensed products. Collaborates closely with Brand Management, Market Intelligence, Research, Analytics, Sales, and Product in these efforts.

  • Contributes franchise-related inputs to the greenlight process for products in development. Works with Brand Management, Market Intelligence, Research, and User Research to assess and ensure product-market fit for each product across the development lifecycle.

  • Facilitates leadership meetings targeted at sharing information, raising questions and concerns, and making franchise decisions. Monitors action items and tracks follow-through by responsible parties. 

  • Maintains connections with other franchise groups across Warner Bros. Discovery (e.g. TV, Theatrical, Consumer Products) to ensure Warner Bros. Games’ integration into company-wide franchise programs.

  • As needed, liaises with other business units and key international territory franchise leads to ensure global relevance for Warner Bros. Games slate and franchise plans.

The Essentials

  • Executive-level storytelling and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to bring structure and clarity to complex initiatives and ambiguous challenges.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and ability to drive consensus.   

  • Comfortable navigating, interpreting, and working with research and data resources.

  • Strong strategic thinking coupled with financial acumen and commercial instincts

  • Deep understanding of the games industry.

  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.

The Nice to Haves

  • Prior experience at consulting firm or in Strategy and Operations role

  • Prior experience in Gaming industry

  • Prior experience coordinating major programs across matrixed organizations.

  • Prior global experience and perspective.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $98,000.00 - $182,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
