Job Details

Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played video game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As the Senior Manager, HRBP for China, you will be the HRBP lead supporting Riot’s China office, along with our Senior HRBP. You'll act as a trusted partner/advisor to business leaders and partner closely with central HRBPs, and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to align people strategies to support business goals, enhance employee engagement, and foster a high-performance culture.

This role requires strong business acumen, deep HR expertise, and a proactive mindset to influence and drive impactful people solutions aligned with company goals. In addition, a culturally attuned leader who can drive talent outcomes, lead through change, and foster a "One HR Team" mindset across HRBPs, COEs, and Shared Services. You will report to the Director, HRBP [APAC/China].

  • Lead performance management cycles, ensuring alignment with business outcomes through effective process, training, and calibration.
  • Strengthen Rioter engagement and retention by supporting leadership onboarding, manager effectiveness (via coaching, training, and feedback), and change management efforts tied to org design, performance, culture, and D&I.

Talent Acquisition & Internal Mobility

  • Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition to shape search strategies for key and leadership roles, ensure a smooth and aligned hiring process, and actively participate in candidate interviews and evaluation.
  • Oversee and enhance internal mobility processes, including domestic and international transfers, to support talent movement and development.

Workforce Planning & People Analytics

  • Lead workforce and staffing planning efforts in collaboration with Finance, central HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders.
  • Leverage people data and KPIs to deliver actionable insights that inform decision-making, forecast future needs, and guide organizational planning.

Talent Programs & Policy Implementation

  • Provide local perspective and guidance on the implementation of global People policies and programs
  • Act as a feedback loop to central HRBPs, Talent Management and COE teams to ensure initiatives are culturally relevant, operationally effective, and responsive to evolving business needs.

Employee Relations & Culture Leadership

  • Be a champion of Riot’s culture and values, driving positive behaviors and cultivating a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing workplace environment.
  • Partner with the Rioter Relations team to manage sensitive issues, including investigations and conflict resolution.

  • Track record of leading cross-functional people initiatives and successfully influencing senior business leaders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build persuasive, insight-driven business cases
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence, cultural agility, and discretion when managing sensitive topics
