Senior Manager, Live Community

Remote - US & Canada

 

Job Description

thatgamecompany is looking for a veteran community leader to drive Sky’s live community approach. The person in this role should have deep experience managing sizable live service communities, and architecting playerfacing community strategies. The ideal candidate for this role will also have experience managing teams, and is passionate about building premiere social experiences and leading from the front.

 

This position will report to the Head of Community.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in building and executing playerfacing communication strategies
  • Develop monthly engagement initiative plans for Sky players on Discord and Reddit
  • Serve as a public facing representative of the studio online and in-person
  • Build and present weekly player sentiment reports to studio leadership
  • Oversee Sky’s beta community program
  • Drive thatgamecompany’s livestreaming approach
  • Run US based Sky Assemblies in-person fan events, as well as trade show activations
  • Write scripts for Developer Update content
  • Own emergent issues communications
  • Manage and develop a team of community managers
  • Run internal awareness and advocacy programs
  • Participate in companywide playtests as the voice of the player community

 

Must Haves

  • A deep understanding of thatgamecompany’s core values and vision
  • Passion for Sky and a deep understanding of its players
  • 5+ years of experience working in live service community management
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • An ability to analyze and interpret data and adjust based on analytics and feedback from stakeholders
  • A self-starter mindset

 

Nice to Haves

  • Basic editing knowledge of Photoshop.
  • Experience with mobile free-to-play games

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 USD annually, 
with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. This salary is an estimate,
and the actual salary may vary based on the geographic location, job-related knowledge, 
skils and experience, and the Company's compensation practices.
