Job Description

Google Meet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and enhance video quality using AI/ML. Responsibilities include understanding perceived video quality, developing ML models for video enhancement, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and integrating solutions into production. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development (C++ preferred), machine learning infrastructure (model deployment, evaluation, optimization), and software testing and maintenance. Experience with audio processing, video streaming, and Python is a plus. This role involves leveraging AI/ML to improve the video experience for millions of Meet users.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
3+ years ML infrastructure experience
3+ years software product experience
Experience with modern C++
Strong data structures and algorithms knowledge

Good to have:

Audio processing/Echo cancellation experience
Video streaming experience
Python coding experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience with Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience in developing software systems in modern C++.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in Audio processing/Echo cancellation/ or Video streaming.
Knowledge of coding with Python.

Responsibilities

Build a complete understanding of perceived video quality and identify opportunities for the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) to augment it.
Develop ML models and the application of AI for video quality enhancements.
Collaborate with cross-functional Meet Media teams (and external partners) for the integration of video processing solutions into production.
Leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance the video experience for millions of Meet users.
