Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer (Mobile/Android) role involves designing and implementing new software features for Disney's eCommerce platform, focusing on ticketing products. Responsibilities include working in an agile environment, reviewing user stories, designing technical specifications, building distributed systems, and collaborating with product and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience, strong knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms, and experience with mobile development (Android preferred). Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, RESTful web services, and AWS cloud services is also required.

Must have:

5+ years Software Development Experience
Android Development Expertise
Design Patterns & Data Structures Knowledge
Agile Environment Experience
RESTful Web Services Experience
AWS Cloud Suite Familiarity

Good to have:

Full Stack Development Experience
Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Node.js, jQuery)
Knowledge of Cocoapods/Gradle, Freezed, Riverpod, FVM, Melos
UI Optimization and Performance Tuning
UI Automation
Experience with Mobile Web Views

Job Summary:

We are a group of technologists who love to work on the latest technology to build new features and improve existing components of Disney’s eCommerce Platform specializing in Ticketing Products. We also take pride in building the next generation of eCommerce products for various business units within the Walt Disney Company.

What You Will Do:
•Showcase high enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment.
•Working in an agile environment with detailed planning and estimation accuracy
•Review User Stories partnering with Product Team
•Design Technical Specifications collaborating with Technical Leads and Architects
•Design and Implement new software features, build distributed systems with efficiency and stability in mind.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in Software Development

Hands On Knowledge on Design Patterns - Great understanding in the following design patters: Singleton, Factory, Observer, Builder, Adapter, Publisher/Subscriber, Decorator.
Hands On Knowledge on Data Structures - Familiarity/Confident using Lists, Sets, Maps, Linked Lists, Queues, Stacks. Preferred familiar with BST, Red-Black Trees, trees, graphs.
Hands On Knowledge of Algorithms - Great problem-solving skills, solve coding problems. Big O notation, time and space complexity of the algorithms.

Hybrid-Web Engineer

2+ years experiences with modern JavaScript based applications and/or development frameworks such as Angular, Node.js, jQuery, etc.
Experience with Mobile development either iOS or Android.
Knowledge on build processes cocoapods/gradle
Knowledge on Freezed, Riverpod, FVM, Melos.
Kotlin and or Swift (native languages).
Experience creating dynamic mobile friendly web apps that are cross-browser/cross-platform compatible.
Experience utilizing with RESTful Web Services
Experience with Jenkins and GIT
Experience with TDD and writing unit tests.
Familiarity with web components
Familiarity with UI optimization and performance tuning
Familiarity with UI Automation
Familiarity working with Mobile Web Views
Experience with AWS Cloud Suite (Service Management and Deployments, EC2 and ECS Containers, Elastic Search Caching, Lambdas, DynamoDB, MariaDB/MySQL, Kinesis, Developer Tools)

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years' Experience on Full Stack Development (Service and UI or Web UI and iOS or Web UI and Android)

Required Education:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
