Geoserve is seeking a seasoned UI/UX Designer to lead the design of our innovative solutions for the maritime industry. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for creating exceptional user experiences across both mobile and web platforms.
This is a unique opportunity to not only shape the product in an IC role initially but also build and mentor a design team subsequently. We are looking for a design leader who can combine strategic thinking, hands-on design skills, and a passion for creating intuitive user interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the overall design strategy for Geoserve's products.
- Conduct in-depth user research and analysis to understand the needs and workflows of voyage operators, charterers and the other stakeholders.
- Create user-centered design artifacts such as user personas, journey maps, and wireframes.
- Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for both mobile and web platforms with a mobile first approach.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and maritime operations teams to bring designs to life.
- Lead and mentor a team of UI/UX designers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX design trends and technologies in the marine industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer, with a strong focus on both mobile and web applications.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring design teams.
- Demonstrated ability to create exceptional user experiences in complex domains.
- Proficiency in design software (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.)
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Portfolio showcasing a strong track record of successful design projects.
Additional
- Experience designing for SAAS or Consumer Tech applications.
- Knowledge of industry-specific design standards and guidelines.
- Industry Experience: While not strictly required, experience in the marine or transportation industry could be a plus.
