Job Description

As a Services Engineer at Lighthouse Games, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a range of services for the development team. You will collaborate with Online and Gameplay teams to deliver and deploy services, focusing on improving scalability and flexibility. Key responsibilities include contributing to the live service codebase, participating in code reviews, implementing live service features, gathering requirements from other disciplines, establishing online service features, supporting junior team members, and promoting quality within the team. You will also be expected to take an active part in the collaborative team spirit.

Must Have:

Contribute to live service code base development, maintenance and deployment.
Participate in peer code reviews.
Implement live service features, considering performance and scalability.
Work alongside other disciplines to gather requirements.
Establish online service features such as matchmaking, friends and commerce.
Support and mentor less experienced team members.
Champion quality within Lighthouse Games and online service development.

As a Services Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing a range of services for use by the whole development team. You will work with the Online and Gameplay teams to deliver and deploy services that they can seamlessly integrate features into, looking for ways to improve the scalability and flexibility of those systems at every opportunity. As a Senior team member, you will share your knowledge with those with less experience to ensure high quality code is created throughout the team.

Key Duties

Contribute towards development, maintenance and deployment of live service code base
Participate in peer code reviews
Implement live service features considering performance & scalability.
Work alongside other disciplines (design, art, production) to gather requirements for live service features
Establish online service features such as matchmaking, friends, and commerce
Support less experienced team members, mentoring them, and raising the standards of the whole Engineering team
Champion quality within Lighthouse Games and our online services development
