We are looking for an experienced Software Architect with an understanding of cloud computing, scalability, security, and distributed computing. You will design an enterprise-scale user-generated content (UGC) solution that can handle massive volumes of data while maintaining performance and security standards. You will report directly to a senior technology leader on a central technology team and help us deliver a variety of exciting player experiences through game studio partnerships.
Responsibilities
You will architect scalable, secure, and distributed systems for cloud environments.
Collaborate with teams to develop technical solutions
Work with partners across the company to identify and address technical requirements and performance needs
Maintain architectural blueprints, design patterns, and best practices for cloud computing.- Ensure the security and compliance of cloud-based applications and infrastructure
Recommend technologies, and services that align with our strategic goals.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding them in best practices for cloud architecture
Conduct performance analysis and optimization to ensure system reliability.
Guide DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing
Stay current with the latest cloud trends, technologies, and best practices to improve our cloud architecture.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
8+ years of experience as a Software Architect, with a focus on cloud computing, scalability, security, and distributed computing
Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
In-depth knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards for cloud environments.
8+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable and high-availability systems
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or similar
Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing
Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience with server less architectures and technologies.
Experience with data pipelines and related technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Argo, and Beam etc.
Knowledge of distributed systems design patterns and principles.
Familiarity with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL.
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

BASE SALARY RANGES
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $160,200 - $229,100 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. "
