Software Engineer

Our direct global client is looking for someone to join the Development team to implement major functionalities within an internal web application using Phoenix LiveView in Elixir.

This is a 7-12 – month contract + possible extension. The team is located in California, and the role is fully remote. Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.


Software Engineer Responsibilities: 

• Build impactful features by  implement major functionalities within a web application using Phoenix LiveView in Elixir.
• Collaborate closely with analysts by responding swiftly to feature requests, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions that enhance their workflows.
• Integrate diverse data sources by partnering with external teams to seamlessly incorporate new data streams.
• Contribute to a powerful analytics platform bysupporting the development of a platform that enables analysts to share and leverage key insights.
• Work within a flexible 10AM - 6PM PST schedule, with some room for adjustments.

Software Engineer Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven expertise in full-stack web development.
• Deep proficiency in Elixir and Phoenix LiveView.
• Strong experience in data handling from API endpoints, GraphQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to leverage logging and metrics to effectively identify and resolve bugs in live services.
• Demonstrated experience in building intuitive internal tools or applications with a strong focus on user experience.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining microservices using languages like GoLang.
• Background working with or collaborating with analyst teams focused on fraud investigation or anomaly detection.
• Experience within the gaming industry.
• Experience supporting teams that utilize Livebooks for data analysis.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and the length of assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
