Job Overview

Arm designs technologically sophisticated Cores and System components. Combining these components with Arm CPUs, various sub-system solutions are built to cater to pioneering market segments like mobiles, servers, AI, automotive, IoT, etc.

The system-level verification team in Bangalore is responsible for verifying Arm CPUs and System IP as part of these sub-systems at a pre-silicon stage – using industry-standard emulator and FPGA platforms from major EDA vendors.

We develop tools to generate random tests and scenarios in an automated fashion and are at the heart of our verification strategy.

Responsibilities

Your role involves building tools used in System Verification. This includes tools that auto-generate random self-tests (Random Instruction Sequences – RIS) as well as software/OS support to verify new features in the architecture.

  • Technical ownership of tool features development
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of company processes in order to work constructively within given standards and methodologies.
  • Work with partners on requirements and communicate progress

Required Skills and Experience

  • Good university Degree in Computer Science. Other Science/Engineering graduates with relevant expertise would be considered
  • 8+ years engineering experience in system software development or verification tools development (preferably RIS tools).
  • Excellent C and C++ programming and debugging skills
  • CPU and system architecture (ARM, x86, Power or other) knowledge, including but not limited to virtual memory, synchronization, atomicity, cache coherence, memory ordering etc
  • Scripting experience (preferably Perl/Python)
  • Familiarity of UNIX / Linux working environment

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in developing Random Instruction Sequence test generators for a multi-processor system with very good understanding of architecture including memory coherency and ordering.
  • Familiar with Embedded Software Development flows and standard methodologies.
  • Experience of Arm based System Designs.
  • Basic understanding of Linux OS and kernels will be an added advantage.
