Job Description

As a Staff Network Engineer-Federal, you will collaborate with a team to deploy, operate, monitor, and support network infrastructures across multiple data centers. You will act as the L3 technical escalation point, managing and resolving high-severity incidents, and perform peer reviews on configurations. You will also offer technical guidance and mentorship to the team, and participate in an on-call rotation. The role involves working with high-speed Ethernet switches and BGP protocols, along with troubleshooting in IPv4 and IPv6 for large-scale networks.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. citizenship required for the role.
  • Experience with ticketing and inventory systems.
  • 6+ years experience in high-speed Ethernet switch networks.
  • Hands-on experience in BGP routing operation and troubleshooting.
Good to have:
  • Experience in IP-packet analysis using WireShark.
  • Knowledge of DNS, HTTPS, GRE, and IPsec protocols.
  • Experience on Linux/Unix and Network equipment.
  • Familiar with Unix Shell scripts and CCNP, JNCIP.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Network to join our Cloud Operations team. This is a remote role for the USA. Reporting to the Manager Network Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

  • Collaborating closely with a team of skilled engineers to deploy, operate, monitor, and support network infrastructures across multiple data centers.
  • Acting as the L3 technical escalation point, taking a lead role in managing and resolving high-severity or critical incidents.
  • Performing thorough peer reviews ("4-Eye checks") on configuration and change scripts to ensure accuracy, validity, and adherence to standards.
  • Offering expert technical guidance and mentorship to the team within the network domain, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation to ensure continuous operational support and issue resolution.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role.
  • Experience working with ticketing and inventory systems in remote Data Center operations.
  • 6+ years of experience on high-speed copper and fiber Ethernet switch network. Layer-2 spanning-tree protocols, and Layer-3 BGP protocols.
  • Hands-on experience in BGP routing operation, design, and troubleshooting in both IPv4 and IPv6 for large-scale Enterprise networks or Telecom networks.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in IP-packet analysis by using WireShark.
  • Knowledge of DNS, HTTPS, GRE, and IPsec protocols with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience on Linux/Unix, and Network equipment and the tasks they perform. Familiar with Unix Shell scripts and CCNP, JNCIP related certification classes.
