Job Description

This Staff Software Engineer role at Google Distributed Cloud Hosted requires a minimum of 8 years of software development experience, including expertise in data structures/algorithms, testing and launching software products, and software design and architecture. Experience with Kubernetes is mandatory. Must have:

8+ years software development experience
Data structures/algorithms expertise
Experience with Kubernetes
Software design & architecture
Testing and launching software products

Good to have:

Experience with Kubernetes and GCP
Open source contributions
Large system design knowledge
Problem-solving and trade-off skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience in Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (GCP).
Experience contributing to open source projects or working with an open source community.
Knowledge of building large systems.
Ability to navigate open-ended technical challenges, and make proper trade-offs.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and project direction to a team of SWEs, inspiring innovation and the development of advanced capabilities for GDC-Connected.
Advocate for engineering, operational and project execution excellence, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and development through technical mentorship and coaching.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and program management to deliver high-quality solutions within established timelines.
Establish strategic partnerships with stakeholders to define a long-term product vision and technology roadmap.
