About the job:
As a Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing and supporting internally developed systems and third-party software. This role involves configuring servers and operating systems for performance, recoverability, and availability. You'll define functional and technical needs, recommend solutions, and assess available technologies to meet those needs. Additionally, you'll develop and modify technology systems, create test scenarios, and perform testing and analysis. Your expertise in managing and querying databases using SQL or similar technologies is essential. You should also have experience with document and relational databases. You'll write scripts for automation, design cost-effective systems, review system operation and configuration, and apply creativity in system design and delivery. You'll work with orchestration technologies to automate tasks, document changes, and collaborate with key contacts outside your area of expertise. Ensuring compliance with internal controls and mentoring Associate System Engineers are also part of the responsibilities.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience in system development technologies

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Installs and supports internally developed systems and third-party licensed software.

  • Configures servers and operating systems for performance, recoverability, and availability.

  • Defines the functional and technical needs of an organization and recommends solutions.

  • Assesses available technologies to meet needs, and then defines technical specifications and designs.

  • Develops and modifies technology systems, addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations and monitoring needs.

  • Creates detailed test scenarios, performs testing and analyzes results.

  • Systems engineers should be able to manage and query databases using SQL or similar technologies to handle data-driven aspects of systems integration. They should also have experience engineering and maintaining document databases such as Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB, as well as relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle and MSSQL

  • Writes scripts and uses automation to perform routine tasks.

  • Designs simple and cost-effective systems to meet operational and security requirements.

  • Reviews systems operation and configuration to ensure it continues to meet design criteria.

  • Applies creativity and latitude to design and deliver systems.

  • Works with Orchestration technologies to automate tasks within area of expertise.

  • Documents all technology changes through appropriate change control.

  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise that may also include employees from Nintendo Company, Ltd. (NCL) and subsidiaries.

  • Ensures work is completed in such a way to comply with established JSOX and other internal controls.

  • Mentors and assists Associate System Engineers.

  • Provides support and troubleshooting of prior developed technology solutions.

  • Provides on-call support as needed.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in various system development technologies, patterns and practices.

  • Proven experience with work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Requires understanding of core infrastructure concepts such as networking and storage and how systems interact with them.

  • Requires working knowledge and experience in own technical job family and broadens capabilities; has worked with and is proficient with current technologies.

  • Requires expanded knowledge in own job family and broadens capabilities.

  • Requires staying current on engineering approaches, technologies and techniques.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $102,500 - $164,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
