The Quality Engineering team at EA holds an important role, collaborating with Quality Assurance and Game Development to enhance efficiencies through automation and workflow improvements. This engineering leader possesses the autonomy to shape technology implementation, address partner needs, and contribute to the broader Quality Engineering organization. The solutions developed are utilized by the wider EA community. You will report to the Group Technical Director.
Responsibilities
Tooling and Software Development: Build sustainable software tools, tests, and services, empowering development teams and Quality Assurance to protect the quality of shipped titles.
Technology Selection and Implementation: Ensure appropriate technology is selected and implemented to maximize overall business benefits, with a focus on modern software engineering processes and best practices.
Automated Testing Solutions: Design, author, test, and deploy automated tests, covering multiple test scenarios, and interpreting requests from QA and engineering partners.
Process Improvement and Automation: Measurably improve processes and best practices, leading a team of engineers to develop automation frameworks, tools, engine components, and processes used across studios.
Roadmap Definition and Implementation: Collaborate with customers to define and execute the team's roadmap, delivering required technology, methods, and processes to support opportunities across EA studios worldwide.
Problem-Solving and Efficiency Enhancement: Address roadblocks and inefficiencies, proposing and applying creative or technical solutions to improve workflows and processes.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software development i.e. .NET Web development, with expertise in C++, C# or similar languages.
Proven experience in quality verification tools, test automation, and large-scale system design.
Experience leading technical/software teams.
Solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, algorithms, design patterns, test-driven development, CI/CD processes, and data structures.
Experience in testing within Agile and DevOps environments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Previous experience in gaming or other performance-sensitive industries

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
