Job Description

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) will lead and manage technical programs for PlayStation's game integration platform, bridging gameplay and platform experiences. Responsibilities include program execution from initiation to completion, cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and operations teams, roadmap planning and prioritization, risk management, and transparent communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have proven TPM experience in a fast-paced environment, strong understanding of agile methodologies and SDLC, excellent stakeholder management skills, and experience with program management tools. Experience in the game industry, familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines are preferred.

Technical Program Manager - Contract

San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a candidate to join our game integration platform to bring gameplay and platform experiences closer together! As a team member for the game integration and validation platform, you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of SDK technologies, game development and infrastructure. You'll be responsible for prototyping fast and effectively with experimental technologies and bringing new PlayStation experiences into gameplay features. Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Execution: Lead and manage technical programs from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product management, and operations teams to drive seamless execution.

  • Roadmap & Planning: Define program scope, timelines, and key milestones, ensuring clear prioritization and resource allocation.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential roadblocks early and proactively mitigate risks to keep programs on track.

  • Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear and transparent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on program status, risks, and dependencies.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously refine and improve program management processes to enhance efficiency and team productivity.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager (TPM) in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and technical program management best practices.

  • Ability to manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously with competing priorities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive decisions with data-driven insights.

  • Experience with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office) and tracking KPIs.

  • Background in engineering or a technical field is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Game Industry

  • Familiarity with game development, cloud platforms, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

  • Previous experience in contract or consulting roles.

At SIE, working with our partners, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$45 - $45 USD
