Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Responsibilities include scoping and tracking execution in ambiguous cross-functional programs, identifying process improvements, tracking progress and mitigating risks, working with cross-functional teams on OKR planning, and providing clear communication to teams and executive stakeholders. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience and 5 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or a related domain, along with 5 years of experience managing cross-functional projects and experience with Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Security, or Cloud AI platforms.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent
  • 5 years Technical Program Management experience
  • 5 years cross-functional project management experience
  • Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Security, or Cloud AI experience
  • Scope, organize, and track execution of projects
  • Identify and mitigate risks
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to independently define projects and processes

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management or a related domain.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Security or Cloud AI platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to independently define projects, setup processes and execute within timelines, with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on tasks and help to drive clarity within the initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, organize into objectives, and track execution in ambiguous cross-functional and cross-organizational programs to ensure a successful and timely delivery.
  • Identify process improvements for scale and efficiency, measuring their impact and using said metrics to create visibility and alignment in teams.
  • Track progress, unblocking dependencies, identifying, evaluating, mitigating risks and put into motion the solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in execution, Objectives and Key Results (OKR) planning, and drive accountability to OKR execution.
  • Provide clear communication to the teams and executive stakeholders regarding project status, risks/issues, mitigation plans and escalations.
