Vegetation Artist

About the Role:

As a Vegetation Artist at CIG, you will be joining a team responsible for creating all the amazing organic locations in the game. Star Citizen is a universe filled with solar systems, each of which are filled with diverse locations all of which the player can seamlessly fly down to from space and explore on foot.

You will be utilising our in-house tools and technology which have allowed us to render everything from a planet seen from orbit, all the way down to the individual petals on a plant without any loading screen. You will work with the creative team to build biomes and their components using a mixture of scanned data and procedural tools and establish rule sets for how they appear on the planet surface to achieve a photorealistic end frame.

What does a Vegetation Artist at CIG do?

• Create photorealistic botanical assets to populate planets and locations rich in detail that will inspire the player to explore.
• Work closely with Art Direction to make sure the artistic vision is coming to life.
• Collaborate with other departments to help create the best experience possible.

What do we expect from our Vegetation Artists?

• Someone who is passionate about creating inspirational environments.
• Experience in creating photorealistic artwork.
• Understanding key aspects of the discipline like modelling, shading and world building.
• Someone who loves to be part of a passionate team and can communicate effectively.
