Who You Are

You are a talented Compositor with an extensive background in roto/paint. You have proven experience in doing Quality Control for both episodic and feature film projects. You are comfortable QCing both internal roto/paint work and shots from external vendors. 


What You’ll Do

  • Work with coordinators/producers to determine outsourcing needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Vendors
  • Prep footage to be sent to Vendors, including the creation of annotated frames/detailed notes on work to be done
  • Evaluate packages returned from vendors and in-house staff to ensure it meets each production’s required level of detail
  • Review and QC Vendor deliveries before submitting them to internal artists for shot integration or review
  • Receive and review Vendor Bids
  • Communicate with external vendors in regards to roto/paint work, including sending notes and feedback for completed work. 
  • For work that does not meet internal quality standards, send back to vendors with clear and concise notes to ensure high quality work is returned
  • Attend production meetings; complete corrections/revisions based on feedback and partner with supervisors to complete all work to the highest quality standards
  • If vendors are unavailable for work or unable to finish in time, pick up roto/paint work as needed


What You Bring

  • 7+ years working in a VFX studio environment as a Compositor; previous experience as a Roto/Paint artist. Roto/Paint supervision experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Nuke, Silhouette, and Mocha
  • Exceptional artistic skills and organizational skills; understands how to prioritize the necessary tasks and assignments for themselves and their artists
  • Interact with everyone in a positive manner
  • Able to multitask and switch gears as deadlines and priorities shift
  • A genuine interest in pushing your creative and professional boundaries
  • An ability to be self-directed and to thrive on tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving ability
