The Chief Operating Officer (COO) division at Autodesk is looking for a Frontend Software Architect with extensive experience in developing modern, scalable, maintainable, and secure web front-end experiences. The COO division is responsible for building and maintaining cutting-edge web experiences that reach millions of customers every month.
As a member of the COO architecture team, you will drive innovation and continually improve user experiences (UX) for both internal and external customers. You will report to a Distinguished Architect within the COO organization. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, assuming you can accommodate North American time zones for your regular working hours.
Preference for candidates hybrid/remote near one of our US or Canada offices (San Francisco, Portland, Atlanta, Boston, Novi, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver). Open to hybrid/remote candidates in North America PT through ET zones.
Responsibilities
Lead technical discussions across diverse teams and organizations in a matrix setting
Mentor developers on emerging and existing technologies, as well as career development paths
Evaluate the feasibility of alternative directions in future architecture/platform development through modeling and prototyping
Ensure selected architectures achieve desired quality attributes such as security, scalability, and resilience
Guide the design, architecture, and implementation of progressive web apps, web pages, and micro frontends
Design and implement high-quality code for complex areas
Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs, system architecture, and product requirements into well-designed and implemented software
Evangelize and distribute technical information.
Present to and gain insights and feedback from senior Autodesk management on key architectural initiatives
Contribute to both near and long-term technology roadmaps
Champion industry best practices
Act as a subject matter expert in established and emerging web technologies and standards such as Material UI, React, Redux, Web Components, Web Workers, WASM, WebGPU, client-side caching, accessibility, and progressive device capability utilization
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
10+ years of experience as a software engineer or architect, with a strong focus on cloud technologies
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
Strong leadership skills, with experience in guiding and mentoring diverse teams
Demonstrated success in leading the architecture for commercial SaaS applications that are globally deployed at massive scale
High levels of ownership and a collaborative spirit, working seamlessly to consistently deliver high-quality results
Extensive knowledge of frontend development tools, languages, and frameworks, along with an understanding of their appropriate applications
In-depth understanding of the latest paradigms in building modern and responsive web experiences at scale, including micro frontend architectures, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), various design systems, and expertise in multiple web frameworks and REST/GraphQL APIs
Hands-on experience with architectural patterns such as Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) and Model-View-Controller (MVC)
Proven experience in building fully automated development workflows, including validation, adherence to best practice guidelines, builds, and deployments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in desktop UX development and mobile development

Responsabilités
