This role is in a pioneering development department for next-generation electric vehicles, aiming for commercialization in 5-10 years. Responsibilities include evaluating EV driving performance and fuel/electric efficiency, designing driving and power systems for BEV/PHEV/HEV, and testing prototype vehicles. The goal is to research future technologies, propose optimal vehicle system designs and control concepts, and ensure these innovations become a source of future competitiveness for Nissan.
Must have:
  • Allocating requirements to vehicle systems to satisfy vehicle performance
  • Designing electric powertrain systems to satisfy vehicle performance
  • Building control concepts for electric powertrain systems to satisfy vehicle performance
  • Adapting, evaluating, and measuring prototype vehicles
  • Conducting design reviews for electric powertrain systems

Job Summary/Role

This is a pioneering development department for next-generation electric vehicles, aiming for commercialization in 5-10 years.

  • Evaluation of driving performance and fuel/electric efficiency for electric vehicles.
  • Design and control concept for driving systems and power systems of BEV/PHEV/HEV.
  • Adaptation, evaluation, and measurement of prototype vehicles.

To develop competitive next-generation electric vehicles, we widely research future technologies developed both internally and externally, and propose vehicle system designs and control concepts that optimally combine them. The vehicle systems whose feasibility has been confirmed through our advanced development will transition to product development, making our achievements a source of future competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Adapting, evaluating, and measuring prototype vehicles.
  • Conducting design reviews for electric powertrain systems.

To develop competitive next-generation electric vehicles, it is necessary to actively incorporate new technologies. We are looking for engineers who can actively learn about new technical fields they have not experienced before, and who can engage experts with sincerity and enthusiasm.

This is a vibrant workplace that embraces new ideas and information, as it involves challenging new areas. Since we work in small teams, you can work in a flat relationship regardless of age. Desk studies are conducted at Nissan Advanced Technology Center in Atsugi. Vehicle experiments are conducted at proving grounds in Tochigi and Hokkaido, depending on the experiment content. There are also opportunities to conduct vehicle experiments overseas.

Requirements

MUST

  • Experience in powertrain system or chassis system development (3 years or more) OR experience in control development using MATLAB/Simulink or vehicle performance analysis (3 years or more) OR experience in electric vehicle driving performance and fuel efficiency analysis (3 years or more).
  • Passion for technology development, dedication to self-improvement, and curiosity for new technical fields.
  • TOEIC score of 600 or higher.

WANT

  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to communicate with other engineers in English.
  • TOEIC score of 730 or higher.
