At Adyen, the Account Management team is critical to the growth and success of our business. As an Account Manager, you will manage relationships with innovative international merchants, providing impactful payments insights to help them grow. You will own the customer relationship, identify commercial opportunities, and drive mutual success for Adyen and our customers. This role requires a strategic mindset and commercial approach, focusing on delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Must have:
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients using Adyen Card Issuing Solutions.
  • Act as an industry expert in card issuing, competitive landscape, and compliance.
  • Identify new card issuing opportunities and expansion within existing client base.
  • Prioritize client requirements to position Adyen’s issuing and processing capabilities.
  • Build long-term, trustful relationships with clients.
  • Define commercial structure of card programs and coordinate successful launches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, underwriting/compliance, implementation) for client success.
  • Contribute to Adyen’s card issuing and processing strategy.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience, including 5 years in Card Issuing.
  • Solid track record of managing and growing successful card programs.
  • Proven ability to nurture strong client relationships and drive account expansion.
  • Strong working knowledge of card/payments industry, products, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively about company’s technology and services.

Account Manager

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong relationships by earning trust with our customers, and providing impactful payments insights to help them grow. Our Account Managers are empowered to own the customer relationship and provide best-in-class service to our customers. In this role, you’ll contribute to our ongoing momentum by understanding the unique customer need and identifying commercial opportunities, including expansion opportunities and the addition of value adding products. Self-motivated and resourceful, you’ll bring a strategic mindset and commercial approach to the role.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for managing and growing relationships with existing clients using Adyen Card Issuing Solutions.
  • Act as an industry expert, developing and maintaining a broad understanding of the card issuing industry, the competitive landscape, and associated compliance and regulatory issues to make effective recommendations to clients.
  • Identify new card issuing opportunities and expansion within the existing client base based on research and industry trends.
  • Prioritize clients' requirements to effectively position Adyen’s issuing and processing capabilities.
  • Build long-term, trustful relationships with your clients.
  • Define the commercial structure of identified card programs and coordinate successful launches with the client.
  • Collaborate with our Product team, underwriting/compliance, implementation, and other internal teams to ensure client success and program growth.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution and execution of Adyen’s new card issuing and processing strategy, with a focus on available products and services for existing clients.

Who you are

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience - including at least 5 years within the Card Issuing space is a must-have.
  • A solid track record of managing and growing successful card programs.
  • A proven ability to nurture strong client relationships and drive account expansion.
  • Strong working knowledge of the card/payments industry, products, and associated regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively about the company’s technology and services to assist merchant partners in developing the right program.
  • Flexible, informal yet professional. Excellent and direct communicator.
  • Team player.
  • Willingness to travel.
