Job Description
N26 is seeking an Android Engineer to join their Grow & Engage domain, focusing on customer experience from acquisition to premium membership and daily engagement. The role involves developing innovative features for customers, working in a team to deliver a beautifully integrated banking experience. Responsibilities include collaborating with Tech Leads on feature architecture, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software. The engineer will also mentor junior team members, guard code quality, and stay updated with technology trends. The position is part of a cross-functional team responsible for upholding high technical standards across the product.
Must have:
- Experience with Android Open Source Platform
- Experience with Material Design principles
- Experience with Kotlin
- Experience with RxJava/RxAndroid/RxKotlin
- Experience with testability, TDD/BDD, Dependency Injection
- Experience with Jetpack Compose
Good to have:
- Experience with MVVM architectural patterns
- Active participant/speaker at Android meet-ups/conferences

About the opportunity
You will work in the Grow & Engage domain. This is the heart of the customer experience ranging from the acquisition and signup to our premium membership tiers and the daily engagement of our users. You will work in teams delivering the newest and most innovative features serving our customers in the best way possible. As a part of Engagement segment you will help to provide N26 customers with a beautifully integrated banking experience that understands them, proactively guides them, and gets better the more they and their communities use it. In this role, you will:
- Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion
- Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment
- Have opportunities to mentor junior members in the team by relentlessly guarding code quality through pull requests and helping them when they have questions
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and you are not afraid to propose some findings during our Get Stuff Done Days
- Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product
What you need to be successful
Skills:
- Thorough experience with the Android Open Source Platform and Material Design principles
- Experience with Kotlin
- Experience with Reactive programming - RxJava/RxAndroid/RxKotlin
- Able to build software with a focus on testability - Test/Behaviour Driven Development, Dependency Injection
- Experience with Jetpack Compose
Nice to have:
- Experience with Model-View-ViewModel architectural patterns
- Active participant/speaker at meet-ups and conferences in the Android community
