We are recruiting animators at all levels for this position. The role involves creating high-quality motion graphics for creatures, characters, and objects within shots using various animation software. Responsibilities include animating shots on a specific project, participating in aesthetic discussions, providing feedback, maintaining productivity, meeting deadlines with high-quality work, and mentoring entry-level animators. The ideal candidate will have experience in traditional or computer animation, with a portfolio or demo reel showcasing skills in cel, stop motion, or computer animation, preferably on feature films or high-end episodic projects. Knowledge of UNIX, shell scripting, Maya, proprietary software, chaining and constraint techniques, and the CG production pipeline is required. Excellent organization and communication skills are essential.

Good To Have:

Position Summary

Creates high quality motion of computer graphics creatures, characters and objects within a shot, using a variety of animation software programs, and working under the general Supervision of Senior Level and Animation Supervisors.

What you'll do:

Responsible for the successful animation of a series of shots on a specific project.
Participates as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions; provides feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
Maintains or exceeds a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
Expected to ‘mentor’ entry level Animators and must be able to assist them with their shots.
Performs other tasks related to the creation of computer-generated animation.

What we're looking for:

Experience in traditional animation or computer animation.
Demonstrable experience working in cel, stop motion or computer animation with experience working on feature films or high end episodic projects.
Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production and compositional design while demonstrating exceptional skills as an animator based as evidenced by portfolio, demo reel and references.
Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting; knowledge of Maya, proprietary and other software programs.
Mid and Senior level artists are expected to ‘mentor’ entry level Animators and must be able to assist them with their shots.
Knowledge of chaining and constraint techniques.
Knowledge of both the CG production pipeline and the other production processes at ILM.
Excellent organization and communication skills.

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
