Role Summary:

As an Art Director for a Top Global Beauty Brand, you will be instrumental in curating and designing captivating content that showcases some of the world's best creative talent within a dynamic digital landscape. We are seeking a naturally curious individual with a passion for pop culture and a keen eye for immersing themselves in global beauty and lifestyle trends.

You will possess a strong, nuanced understanding of the digital and social media space, coupled with expertise in design and production requirements. This role demands active collaboration with internal teams, client creatives, writers, freelancers, and influencers. You will regularly review your work with client-side Creative Directors, ensuring alignment with brand vision and brief, and will confidently present your creative concepts to executive leadership within the company.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead Creative Direction: Drive strong, effective design and art direction for high-frequency, multi-platform content localization, ensuring brand consistency and impact.
  • Brand Guardianship: Act as a vigilant guardian of the client's identity and brand voice, maintaining creative integrity across all outputs.
  • Global Nuance & Standards: Uphold the highest creative standards while demonstrating acute awareness of country and regional nuances in beauty and culture.
  • Hands-On Execution: Provide hands-on design and art direction, overseeing projects from concept through to final production, with a deep understanding of end-to-end workflows.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively lead and motivate a small creative studio, managing outputs, negotiating priorities, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as an effective communicator, valuing interpersonal relationships, and demonstrating exceptional client service skills with both internal and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in a Design or Art Direction role, ideally within advertising, design agencies, or an in-house creative team, with a strong preference for experience within the beauty, fashion, or luxury sectors.
  • Storytelling Prowess: Proven ability to communicate compelling, creative stories that resonate deeply with diverse consumer audiences.
  • Broad Creative Acumen: A comprehensive background in design and creative, spanning across all mediums, with a strong portfolio showcasing digital and social expertise.
  • Localization Expertise: Demonstrated experience with the localization and transcreation of master assets for global markets.
  • Craft & Problem Solving: Exceptional craft skills and a robust ability to solve complex creative challenges.
  • Platform-First Thinking: Deep understanding of platform-first creative requirements for various digital and social channels.
  • Presentation Excellence: Outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate and defend creative concepts in meetings and reviews with various stakeholders.
  • Collaborative & Accountable: An enthusiastic collaborator who is open to diverse ideas, yet also demonstrates strong initiative and accountability for the narratives being crafted.
  • Market Nuance: Keen understanding of local market creative and cultural nuances, particularly within the beauty industry.
  • Global Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with global teams, navigating different time zones and cultural contexts.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with excellent command of the English language.
