As a Livery Artist at Rockstar Games, you'll be part of a team creating immersive experiences by designing custom graphics for vehicles in-game. This role involves designing custom liveries with various art styles, applying 2D assets to 3D vehicles using software, and collaborating with other artists. The job requires innovation and a commitment to creating engaging content that enhances the narrative. This is a full-time position in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Must have:
  • 2+ years of design experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating technical illustration and graphic artistry skills.
  • Excellent illustration skills.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter).
  • Ability to generate original designs.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a brief and work in a wide range of styles.
Good to have:
  • Experience in applying 2D assets to 3D vehicles.
  • Working in an in-game livery editor.
  • UV mapping, lay out and editing.
  • A keen understanding of vehicle anatomy.
  • Previous experience with vehicle livery creation in any form.

Rockstar North is looking for a highly talented Livery Artist who possesses a passion for graphic design, illustration, vehicle culture and motorsport and able to create custom artwork in a variety of art styles and techniques that can be applied to a 3D in-game vehicle.

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

WHAT WE DO

  • We create liveries with custom graphics, branding and logos for a wide range of vehicles that travel through our in-game worlds, to continually enrich the narrative’s themes and add realism and depth to our vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to create unique and custom designs in a variety of styles and techniques.
  • Apply 2D assets to 3D vehicles using a variety of content creation software packages.
  • Collaborate with a team of in-house vehicle artists and graphic designers to develop liveries and apply them on our vehicles.
  • Pushing the company's standard of innovation and unique brand imagery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience within the design space.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating technical illustration and graphic artistry skills.

SKILLS

  • Excellent illustration skills.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter)
  • Highly creative with the ability to generate original designs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Great organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a brief and work in a wide range of styles.
  • Comfortable learning in-house software and tools.
  • Understand and have a passion for vehicle culture and styles.

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
