We’re hiring a Graduate-Level Financial Accountant (Remote – France)
12-month Fixed-Term Contract
Are you a recent Accounting or Finance graduate looking to kickstart your career in a dynamic, international environment? Join us as a Junior Assistant Financial Controller and play a key role in supporting our finance operations in France. This is a fully remote position based in France, offering hands-on exposure to both French and US accounting standards within a global organization.
You’ll work alongside experienced finance professionals and gain valuable insight into financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance, while developing your technical and professional skills.
Your role in our mission
As part of our finance team, you'll support a variety of core accounting activities and have the opportunity to:
- Support Monthly Close Activities: Assist with month-end tasks, including reviewing journal entries and helping analyze financial results under US GAAP.
- Learn GAAP Reconciliation: Contribute to comparing and documenting differences between French GAAP and US GAAP with guidance from senior team members.
- Develop Process Documentation Skills: Help create and maintain clear, standardized procedures for key accounting tasks.
- Assist in Balance Sheet Review: Support the team in reviewing accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to Statutory & Tax Work: Assist with preparing statutory accounts and gathering documentation for VAT and other tax filings.
- Participate in Audit Preparation: Help prepare for audits by collecting data and working with both internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Gain Exposure to Compliance Requirements: Learn about US GAAP, SOX-lite, and internal financial controls in a multinational setting.
- Support Problem Solving and Process Improvement: Help identify and solve accounting issues while contributing ideas for improving processes.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with colleagues in shared services, external partners, and international finance teams.
Valued skills and experience
- A recent graduate (or final-year student) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of French GAAP; any exposure to US GAAP or IFRS is a plus but not required
- Eager to develop your accounting and reporting skills in a professional environment
- Comfortable using Excel and open to learning new systems (e.g. ERP platforms)
- Fluent in French and English—both written and spoken
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in following up on tasks
- Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to build a long-term finance career
