AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team is seeking an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in China. This role involves performing specific and limited portions of broader assignments, gathering and correlating basic engineering data, and working on detailed or routine engineering assignments. The engineer will be responsible for calculations, conducting relatively simple tests, proposing approaches to solve new problems, identifying discrepancies, providing guidance to entry-level engineers, and executing work within budget and schedule under moderate supervision. The company is a global infrastructure consulting firm focused on delivering better world solutions.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis 2D/3D)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
Good to have:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
  • Experience with field work

AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team is looking for an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in China.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design principles
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software, such as Plaxis 2D/3D, Slope W, etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe
  • Experience with field work and knowledge of industry standards
