Job Description

Critical Mass is seeking an Associate Creative Engineer to join their Trailhead program. This 12-week program will immerse you in the company's operations and client work. As an Associate Creative Engineer, you will utilize your digital design skills to create artwork at scale, adhering to client brand guidelines. You will transform design briefs and key art into scaled digital assets for market delivery, working closely with creative and account teams to ensure timely and high-quality output. This role requires meticulous attention to detail in design, understanding of digital best practices, and the ability to translate creative concepts into various digital formats.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Advanced understanding of UI design tools like Figma.
  • Working knowledge of Keynote & PowerPoint for deck creation.
  • Strong communication, self-discipline, and eagerness to learn.
  • Attention to visual and content details, adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of English proficiency (B2).
Good to have:
  • 1+ years of experience in advertising, digital, or design agencies/startups.
  • Working knowledge of motion design in Premiere/After Effects.
  • Web design (UI Design) experience.
  • Knowledge of remote collaboration tools (Slack, Teams, Sharepoint).
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools like Jira.

Job Details

The Trailhead program is the start of your epic journey at Critical Mass. During your initial 12-weeks, you will embark on a custom-built learning journey to understand what we do, who we are, and how we make award-winning work with our clients. Our goal is to integrate you into the amazing work we do here at Critical Mass, and support you as part of the team to grow your career with us! 

As an Associate Creative Engineer, you are skilled in digital design. You will work with an amazing team of creatives to make sure that artwork is designed at scale according to our client’s brand guidelines. You will take design briefs and key art from the account and creative team, ensuring conceptual creative ideas are designed at scale for digital delivery to market. 


You will 

  • Work with internal teams, account and creative to ensure continuity of delivery of final files within agreed timeframes and to high standards.
  • Design to pixel-perfection and translate key art into the various resizes and versions required by the digital media buy.
  • Become fully ingrained into the brand’s design templates and acting as gatekeeper of brand guidelines.
  • Have an understanding of technical limitations that may affect what can be achieved creatively in various media types
  • Build clean creative files to help manifest the development of a working framework
  • Stay up to date on best digital practices for various platforms
  • Help create a detailed template guide to clearly communicate the workings of the system 

You have 

  • Bachelor's degree (or an advanced student) in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Advertising Design, or related field or equivalent experience in advertising and/or digital agencies or startups.
  • 1+ yrs. experience in advertising agencies, digital agencies, design agencies, and/or startups (plus)
  • Working knowledge of building and editing Keynote & PowerPoint decks 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) 
  • Advanced understanding of UI design tools (Figma).
  • Working knowledge of motion design in Premiere/After Effects (plus)
  • Web work in Desing (UI Desing)
  • Strong knowledge of productivity tools: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of remote collaboration tools (Slack, Teams, Sharepoint) and workflow management tools (Jira).
  • Experience or training in UI Design.
  • Strong communication skills, self-disciplined, open to learning and growing.  
  • Follows brand guidelines – pays attention to visual and content details
  • Critical thinker and Problem-solving mindset
  • High level of English (B2)
