Job Description

As an Automation Technician at Axon, you will be responsible for repairing equipment, supporting manufacturing lines, performing preventive maintenance, quality testing, and gathering data. You will also fill out non-conformance reports and support the engineering and QA departments. Your responsibilities include assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining automation components, performing preventative maintenance, providing feedback, directly supporting the manufacturing line, visually inspecting and testing components, using computers for testing and data recording, using various tools for repair and testing, and promoting a continuous improvement environment. You will also be expected to communicate effectively, work under pressure, and solve problems.
Must have:
  • Experience in electronics automation manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to use a DMM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work within a team.

Your Impact

 

As Axon's Automation Technician, you will be responsible for repairing equipment, supporting manufacturing lines, performing preventive maintenance, quality testing, data gathering, filling out non-conformance reports, and supporting the engineering team and QA department as needed.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Reports to: Automation Technician Supervisor

 

  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain automation components and systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production test equipment and subsystems.
  • Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Training, and Quality teams, regarding failure modes and frequency
  • Directly support the manufacturing line to meet daily and monthly goals.
  • Visually inspect, test, and assemble components or subassemblies using approved assembly procedures.
  • Use a computer to perform testing, download information or record test data.
  • Use hand tools, machine tools and various types of equipment to repair and test products.
  • Promote a continuous improvement environment by looking for more efficient ways to perform daily duties.
  • Communicate effectively and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Take initiative in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Solve problems or identify issues and assist in resolutions.
  • Make reasonable decisions and escalate accordingly.
  • Understand and comply with all ESD requirements.
  • Promotes a safe work environment by adhering to all safety requirements.

 

What You Bring

  • 1-6 years of experience in electronics automation manufacturing
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions.
  • Ability to use DMM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work within a team.

Physical Demands

 

Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, push, carry, etc. for 10 hours at a time; ability to lift 20lbs

unaided; ability to ascend and descend stairs; ability to grasp and use small parts; ability to

occasionally kneel, crouch, bend as required to perform tasks; etc.

 

Work Environment

 

Within the Axon manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise,

ambient temperatures, close quarters, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, exposure to vibrations and industrial lighting, etc.

 

Personal Protective Equipment

 

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided by Axon and may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes but is not limited to, safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
