Job Description

We are seeking a Banking Operations Associate to join our Claims Team. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Associate to join our Claims Team, with a strong background in managing claims related cases. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of insolvency and court procedures, and will serve as the main point of contact for both internal and external legal communications. We seek someone who can confidently issue legally binding statements, oversee risk and loss reporting, and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a proactive mindset, as it also involves driving performance improvements, supporting hiring and mentoring activities, and stepping in as a backup for the team lead when needed. In addition, the Associate will play a key role in optimizing processes, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring the team's operational readiness for new product launches in the German market.
Must have:
  • Take end-to-end ownership of processes and serve as primary escalation point.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies and lead scalable solution development.
  • Apply subject matter expertise in Garnishment, Insolvency, and P-Account.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to evolve the Claims function.
  • Design and implement process enhancements through innovation and automation.
  • Communicate fluently in German and English.

  • Exposure to regulatory reporting, risk management, or compliance

About this role:

We are seeking a Banking Operations Associate to join our Claims Team. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Associate to join our Claims Team, with a strong background in managing claims related cases. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of insolvency and court procedures, and will serve as the main point of contact for both internal and external legal communications. We seek someone who can confidently issue legally binding statements, oversee risk and loss reporting, and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a proactive mindset, as it also involves driving performance improvements, supporting hiring and mentoring activities, and stepping in as a backup for the team lead when needed. In addition, the Associate will play a key role in optimizing processes, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring the team's operational readiness for new product launches in the German market.

In this role, you will:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of processes within your domain, working with a high degree of autonomy and serving as the primary escalation point for complex or sensitive issues.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies in team workflows and lead the development and implementation of effective, scalable solutions.
  • Bring deep engagement and subject matter expertise to daily operations - particularly in Garnishment, Insolvency, and P-Account - while driving improvements in accuracy and turnaround time.
  • Take the lead on cross-functional projects aligned with your strengths and interests, contributing strategically to the evolution of the Claims function.
  • Leverage your passion for innovation and automation to design and implement process enhancements that deliver measurable business value.
  • Communicate fluently in both German and English; additional languages (Italian, Spanish) are a strong asset for coordinating with our stakeholders.

What you need to be successful:

Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., in Legal Studies, Compliance, or Project Management) are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in banking operations, legal operations, or claims management, ideally in a multinational or regulated environment.
  • Proven track record of handling complex legal cases, including insolvency and court proceedings.
  • Experience working with outsourcing partners and cross-functional teams across different markets, especially Germany.
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting, risk management, or compliance is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong process ownership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex workflows and lead issue resolution independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, external legal contacts, and outsourcing partners.
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus (Italian, Spanish).
  • Proficiency in process improvement and automation tools; experience with workflow systems, ticketing tools, or business analytics platforms is a bonus.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to issue legally binding statements accurately and confidently.
  • Ability to mentor team members, contribute to hiring decisions, and step in for the team lead when needed.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of accountability, initiative, and continuous improvement.
