Job Details

The Story Mob is the world’s leading international communications consultancy focused on gaming culture, competitive esports, and digital entertainment. We work with brands, teams, and publishers to shape meaningful communications and engage in authentic conversations with gaming fans. The gaming culture is the most exciting and fastest-growing culture in the world - communications are helping mold the future of it, and the Mob is leading the charge.

We’re a hungry and ambitious company, constantly looking ahead and working hard to be the leading voice in communications within the gaming culture and the esports ecosystem. Each team member wears a lot of hats and the ceiling for growth is sky-high. Our culture is open-minded, fast and flexible where great ideas are celebrated and you’re free to execute them and learn new skills.

If you are a Brand and Content All-Star in the London area with a passion for gaming culture, are able to work across different - and varying! - projects, understand and know social media platforms and their communities, and want to flex your strategic marketing thinking in pursuit of really ambitious KPIs? This job is for you.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and implementing a brand and content strategy for our agency, taking into consideration current industry trends, our ongoing projects and areas we want to own a share of voice in
  • Implementing all tactics related to the strategy you’ve developed, including creating and managing a digital activity calendar, driving the creation and development of all new content pieces, showcasing your success with holistic reports and advising on ad-hoc needs that arise from unique projects, announcements or other surprises on the Internet!
  • Overseeing day-to-day content posting and organic campaigns for Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and any new platform you recommend we join
  • Setting ambitious growth targets across all our social channels, and working towards them, growing our reach and positive sentiment among our followers
  • Identifying industry trends to find a way for the Mob to have a meaningful contribution to them on our channels
  • Raising The Story Mob’s profile by highlighting relevant client campaigns, staff and hiring updates and award wins
  • Using your copywriting skills to create content that appeals to our growing audience, and your design skills to create the best assets (static, but a big plus if you know how to animate or do short videos!)
  • Upping our meme game!
  • Developing social media strategies for our clients, when they have a need for that. Advising on the best type of content for each platform, guiding their internal teams in the development of assets, advising on best posting times, and being the pro on community interactions on all platforms
  • Supporting client campaigns and milestones through meaningful content, helping drive awareness and interest with relevant stakeholders

You are:

  • A digital native who is a natural storyteller. You understand the range of channels available at your fingertips as well as their subtle nuances. As a result, you know how to deliver content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Passionate about the gaming and esports industry, ideally having worked within it previously. You understand the people who work alongside you as much as the communities who play the games.
  • A creative soul. You know how to capture people’s attention and have the ability to deliver assets that are visually compelling. You can also write creative copy in your sleep and are able to work with multiple stakeholders to get those finalized
  • Analytical. You understand how to measure success beyond likes and know how to use data to provide counsel on what’s working and what’s not.
  • Flexible and understand your community is global, and are able to prioritize your work to maximize the success of your efforts
  • Independent can think on your feet and once you sense-checked something, you don’t need to do it again. You can make independent decisions and drive a project to a successful end on your own, with minimal supervision from the rest of the Mob

Our offer:

  • A competitive salary fitting your experience and skillset
  • A ground-level opportunity to build something for a fairly new agency with a limited social media footprint. The sky is not the limit in this job - you will get a lot of freedom to execute a vision and a strategy we all agree is best for the Mob
  • Collaborative team approach when it comes to the planning, delivery, and execution of the digital marketing plan
  • Mentorship and support from some of the most experienced minds in the space and the opportunity to work on leading brands in gaming
  • Flexible working hours to suit your schedule and allow you to deliver your best work
  • Unlimited PTO for a sane and balanced approach to work
  • 4 Day Work Week opt-in
  • The right hardware that works the way you prefer
